The award was given during a Life Care ceremony held at the American Medical Directors Association Annual Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. Five other division award winners, a company-wide winner and a Heritage Award winner were also honored.
Trinh began serving as the medical director at the facility in July 2016. In this role, she coordinates medical care and physician involvement at the center. She takes a hands-on role in caring for patients and makes rounds at The Westchester House every Wednesday with the director of nursing.
“Dr. Trinh has been seen cutting toenails and fingernails, washing faces, brushing teeth and giving a loving touch to everybody she encounters,” said Kristin Shambro, executive director. “Always a smile. Always a kind face. She is a gift to us and a gift to our residents.”
In addition, Trinh has been instrumental in The Westchester House’s participation in the Missouri Quality Initiative through the University of Missouri-Columbia. The initiative strives to reduce hospital readmissions by focusing on prevention and quick responses to six key health conditions (pneumonia, dehydration, congestive heart failure, urinary tract infections, skin infections and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
“Physicians play a pivotal role in our residents’ care,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president, “and we are proud to honor those who stand out in their commitment and their compassion to ensure the health and well-being of those entrusted to them.”
